Goodies & Info

The single features the twin sides to Clint Eastwood. While the original mix launched the band to Stateside and indeed, worldwide success, it was the Ed Case Refix which catapulted Gorillaz into the UK consciousness. Vocals are provided on this remix by Sweetie Irie. Meanwhile, fans will know the Phi Life Cypher version of the track from the live shows of 2001-02, which saw Phi Life Cypher perform live with Gorillaz on Clint Eastwood and also Rock The House. Furthermore, the track received guest attention yet again in 2005, as hip-hop legends De La Soul contributed rhymes over the track on the band's Demon Detour radio tour across the USA.

Charts

Clint Eastwood reached a peak of #4 on the UK singles chart. The single remained on the charts for an incredible 17 week run in the spring/summer of 2001. The song also stayed at #1 on the Student Radio chart in the UK for four weeks, and was listed #5 overall for the spring term 2001. In the States, the track made it to #3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Airplay Chart.

Other Oddities:
In Taiwan, a super limited (100 copies) DJ promo was issued by the record label to promote both Gorillaz and Daft Punk. Each group had two tracks on the CD, with Gorillaz contributing Tomorrow Comes Today and Clint Eastwood. The sleeve for the disc is split between Gorillaz and Daft Punk, featuring the Gorillaz "Tomorrow Comes Today" promo photo on the top and a Daft Punk anime video picture on the bottom.
