Download Info Gorillaz' comeback single features the aforementioned legend Bobby Womack as well as a rap from hip hop counterpart Mos Def. The video, released to much acclaim in March 2010, features an epic chase scene filmed in America and including some high speed shoot 'em up action from the android Noodle as well as a very special guest in the shape of Hollywood action hero Bruce Willis. Click here to view the Stylo video. Stylo was the first Gorillaz single not to be released as a physical single, and is available exclusively as a download. What They Said Murdoc had this to say to the NME about Stylo: "This is a new sound for Gorillaz. An electro-ish 'crack funk' sound, with a little bit of politics and a lot of soul going down. With 'Stylo', I wanted the music to feel euphoric, whilst still putting across how precarious our tightly packed situation is now, worldwide. Where we're at as a species on this overpopulated planet ("Coming on to the Overload. Overload. Overload"). Bobby Womacks chorus, he just explodes into the track. How good is it to get Bobby Womack on the record? This was the first recording hes made in 15, 20 years, so what an honour. Bobby said he only returned to do this Gorillaz track because his granddaughter said Gorillaz were cool. Which is true. We are." |
