In other news, in anticipation for the D-Sides release, check out this info on D-Sides cover star Pazuzu: In Assyrian and Babylonian mythology, the god Pazuzu was the king of the demons of the wind, and son of the god Hanbi. He also represented the southwestern wind, the bearer of storms and drought. Although Pazuzu, himself, is an evil spirit, he drives away other evil spirits, thus protecting humans against plagues and misfortunes. At the beginning of the book and film The Exorcist, when Father Merrin is at the site of an archaeological dig in Northern Iraq, the menacing sculpted figure is Pazuzu, whom he had battled in an exorcism several years earlier. When Merrin is later appointed to perform the exorcism on Regan, he suspects it is Pazuzu that possesses her. Pazuzu makes an appearance throughout Gorillaz story. His statue is in the Rockit video and on the front of the Slow Boat to Hades DVD. After the death and destruction of the last Gorillaz video (El Manana) and the apocalyptic visions of Demon Days, Pazuzu has found his way onto the cover of Gorillaz bsides album 'Dsides'.
